Miura:Unstoppable At 80 |
Eighty-year-old
Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura scaled Mount Everest on the morning of 23
May13, becoming the oldest person to achieve the feat. Miura reached the
peak at 08:45 am Nepali time.
Miura
had already scaled Mount Everest five years ago aged 75. He had first scaled Mt
Everest in 2003 when he was 70,then he scaled it a second time in 2008,and this
was his third successful climb.
The
octogenarian achieved this remarkable feat despite having had a heart surgery
in January this year and a broken hip in
an accident two years ago.It is learnt that In preparation for the climb he had
been undergoing special training in Tokyo lifting a load of 25 to 30 kilo on
his back.
and walking three times a week with that weight.
and walking three times a week with that weight.
Mt Everest
is the tallest peak in the world at 8848 mtr. But, apparently belittled before
the indomitable spirit of a frail ,80 year old man."I had a dream to climb
Everest at this age," he said. "If you have a dream never give up.
Dreams come true."
Going
beyond your own limits is something that you can do any day,any time. There
really are no limits if you want to achieve something worthwhile in life.Look ahead, and look at all
the good and valuable things you can do.Life is too precious, and too filled
with great possibilities, to settle for anything less. There is great power in
your own unique purpose.Your dreams and longings arise not to frustrate you. Their
only purpose is to inspire you and urge you to do what you must.
Living under the constant shadow
of self imposed limits is the hallmark of the victim mindset, the under
achiever.Champs don’t believe in limits. At least they never listen to anyone except their heart.
Dreams are not conceived to be snuffed out with limits, instead
they are born to be lit up with guts.
