OHH! C'MON NOT AGAIN! |
YOUR GIFT IS ALL WRAPPED UP
Every human being who
visits planet Earth will have the frequent privilege of meeting His Majesty
“The Problem”.Essentially, this great entity comes in your life to
empower you.A problem is the wrapping around opportunities, for those who can
see,for those who choose to be empowered. For most others, it’s a source of
avoidable pain.Yet the greatest and the most eminent in the human race have
often made it big despite, and because of their problems.Undoubtedly
the greatest achievers are also masters in solving problems in their
field.Open any page of the history of achievers and this trait will
jump at you.
Usually when a problem
arrives, what are the possible responses?Broadly, response
follows two major streams. One, you can be the solution,or the solver. Two, you
can be the screamer, activist, fault finder, accuser or whatever else-to avoid
solving it.
PLACE THE PROBLEM IN CONTEXT
It is good to identify a
problem, but it is wiser still to place it in correct perspective. The context of
the problem facing you is much more important than the specifics alone.Even
though the specifics will help you solve it,the context will, finally, place it
in correct alignment for future solutions. In any case blame ,fault finding
takes no one anywhere.
Identification of the
problem is one aspect.Solving it is another. For problems created by someone it
is their responsibility to solve it,however an equal obligation to solve the
problem rests with those who identify it, and know the gravity of the
problem.Mere shrill activism ,accusation or finger pointing is no
contribution.Every body can do that.Only some do it quietly, and some from
rooftops.
MAKE A STEW,BUT THAT'S NO SOLUTION
Fretting about the
problem, and the problem alone is no good either. Obsession with the
problem ,to the exclusion of everything else,is a fixation with regress. It
takes you backward.Not forward.
Solutions ,on the other
hand transport you to the future. They are the milestones on the shimmering road
to progress.
It often happens that a
few of us are so taken up with stewing about problems that we continue
our ranting even after it has been solved. It is like throwing away the
banana and cursing the peel for being there in the first place. It is a subtle
sign of dis-empowerment.
It is our bounden duty
to keep ourselves physically fit ,to exercise and to nourish our bodies for
good health. It is an even greater responsibility to keep ourselves healthy
mentally,to adopt the most powerful attitudes while meeting problems.A
constructive , solution oriented attitude helps solve problems amazingly
fast. And contributes to social and personal effectiveness.
MEET 'EM HEAD ON
There are numerous
studies and approaches on problem solving .All
worth implementing.Yet it is good to remember the famous quote “It’s
not how far you fall that counts, but how high you bounce”.
When you meet a
problem next,see yourself as a good problem solver.Want a more creative approach?Then I personally
recommend considering that you’re attending a problem
solving workshop ,albeit a real life one. This is a “power” attitude. One that is far
more likely to solve your case, than whining and fretting about it.
