Hard work has no parallel. Hard work is actually sweet once you start on your way because it genuinely becomes a pleasure down the line.Hardwork has little substitute. Many  people today endorse “smart work “ instead of hard work. Factually speaking smart work is quite a fallacy in more than one way.

HARD WORK HAS NO PARALLEL

...you only get to do “smart work” after you have done loads of  hard work.

Little wonder, someone aptly captured  smart work “as only  a fashion statement and a coverup for poor dedication”.Ask any heavyweight champ,or a swimming champ,or a master composer,or a celebrity author whether they skipped their share of hard work –and only succeeded through “smart work”?The bare fact is  that you only get to do “smart work” after you have done loads of  hard work.That is law.There is no way you can  achieve smartness in  work if you do not know what that  work is, in the first place.

EFFORT BRINGS VICTORY

That’s why you only need to work .Hard .

One step at a time.

One day at a time.

Howsoever crude your effort may appear to you or to others, just do not stop.

All it takes is  that most important first step. And the next important thing is to never doubt what you are doing .Never stop to compare your  capability,skill or performance with another. HARD WORK ALONE MATTERS

Stories abound of, seemingly incapable people who overcame all odds to prove their potential ,to win the race and to set a new precedent.They simply did not stop to listen to their limitations. They did not entertain limitations at all In their mind,because their goal was more dear to them than their constraints.And so their constraints bowed down to their wishes.Hard work was all that mattered to them,and in the process they did not even care to see how far they had come,till suddenly the finish line was upon them.That is the mysterious and  sweet  consequence  of dedicated hard work ,of sincere effort.The reason is  simple.The effort is sincere,and  it is loaded with purpose.

Stories also do the rounds of scores of other ordinary folks ,who willingly chose to remain ordinary.Because they started out all right,but stopped. At some point on their journey,before it was time to stop.They commiserated with their internal critic ,they listened too long to the smirking cynic.They opted out because they compared themselves with the achievers even before they  commenced their journey.They were happy to give in,to give up.They stuck to their known and familiar reality.They didn’t dare to polish the crude diamond within,which could have glittered one day.The effort appeared too much,the arena of success too threatening ,and the comfort of the familiar sidelines  too enticing.

They bothered themselves only with their tiny baby steps.

BABY STEPS TO SUCCESS

Yet the people who did  succeed are those who did not stop, in spite of seeming failures and setbacks. They persisted and converted adversity into opportunity. They bothered themselves only with their tiny baby steps.With their daily progress .It’s no  big math-every day’s progress added over three hundred and sixty five days is a year’s progress. On the other hand a daily stagnation over the same period only speeds up your decline.

All we need to do is only persist in the  search for  that missing link ,that small detail..

On the road to success,that first  small step is the key ;and the one after that, and the one after that. Before you know, you’re standing on the pinnacle of success.Often the commoner will  stop  effort when he finds even a small  obstacle en route to his  goals .Instead  all we need to do is only persist in the  search for  that missing link ,that small detail,that small turn of screw,that tiny change in the code ,that extra inch to reach the desired threshold.They say God lies in the details and this is only too true of success as well.

Often the small difference will spontaneously reveal itself to the dedicated worker.

Alexander Graham Bell  added a quarter- turn to a screw in the machine to overtake other inventors in the same field. Millions of patents thrive in the world where the inventor only persisted in searching for that small difference.Once that small difference was added the big difference swiftly emerged ,the victory followed.Often the small difference will spontaneously reveal itself to the dedicated worker ,because beyond  a point the universe also begins to conspire in your favour.That is the stage when you appear  to be  “working smart”.

So the secret to success is purpose-driven effort and faith in your outcome. In fact, for the truly persistent,the effort itself is pleasure enough to propel them further. Success cannot hide behind any more curtains under the  onslaught of such  zeal. Hard work and persistence is the common denominator for all successful people.
